IF ONLY THE SERVICE MATCHED THE PAINT SCHEME....

One of the cool things about being an officer at SFO is that every once in a while, you get to see something different or interesting.  About a week ago, a plane caught my eye.  It was a plane painted in the old United Airlines paint scheme.

Too bad about United Airlines.  A victim of all those corporate mergers.

Had me thinking about air travel from years ago.  Although I only caught the last vestige of service where you were important, flight crews where they were dressed super professionally, food that was as good as a restaurant, etc...

It's been years now that we've become accustomed to being treated like cattle or cargo.  Price is all important so out went the good food, leg and cabin room, smartly dressed flight crew, etc...

Air travel was a treat.  If you wanted basic transportation where you are not driving, there was always Greyhound.  If you are fortunate to travel abroad, you'll understand that our airports, airlines and planes are on equal footing with Greyhound.

Like everything else.... the standards are continuing their downward spiral.  Thankfully I probably won't be around to see what it will look like in a generation or two.
